Daily round trip - Richmond to McLean

Uday lived for several years in Richmond but had a job in McLean, Virginia. For nearly 4-years, he commuted the distance of 110 miles on a daily basis with a group who carpooled this distance! This would have needed superhuman stamina and enormous discipline as he had to wake up at 4 am everyday to accomplish the 5-hr commute (both ways). When asked how he did it, he said he caught up on his sleep in the car when it was not his turn to drive.

Hats off Uday!

Uday worked for a major period of time with a big financial firm in Richmond, Virginia. While he was there, he was known as an Excel wizard and wrote a program to automate several critical tasks. The application he developed with his own initiative was adapted across a large part of the organization.

3. The "Ops Man"

Uday worked for a financial giant in McLean, Virginia and was one of the main people in the Operations Group. He had a very strong work ethic and was the go-to person for any problem the group faced, whether it was related to them or not. The team had enormous respect for his commitment, skill set, and problem solving ability and he made thick friends with everyone in the group. Nothing would fluster Uday - he always started the day with a cheerful "good morning" to everyone who sat around him.

4. Testimonials and praise

(These are actual recommendations from Uday's colleagues on his LinkedIn profile)

From Keith Quackenbush:
Udaya has been a DA on my team for two years. He churns out some of our most complex code with both high quality and speed. I hate to see him leave the team and would bring him back in a heartbeat.
From Amit Kabnurkar:
I had the pleasure of interacting with Udaya when he supported the data migration project for cross sell during the company's transition to a new billing system which was the largest IT project in the history of the company. We were part of the larger company-wide project and so our timelines were bound by other timelines and there was no margin for error or second chances.
Udaya immediately impressed me with his exceptional technical skills which he used to automated all the manual tasks and saved hours of recurring coding time. Udaya quickly learned everything about the data and the systems and gathered the requirements for the migration. He tested and retested his code to ensure flawless execution at the time of the final migration. Because of Udaya's strong technical skills and hard work and dedication, we had a successful on-time and error-free data migration to the new system and it also saved us hundreds of hours of coding time post migration as he automated a lot of the code.
From Anand Balasubramanian:
I managed Uday for 2 years (around 2008 and 2009). In the 2 years he worked with me, he was responsible for building a new concept for fulfillment validation. This involved understanding business strategies, building a robust expert database system, and a front end GUI that would be easy for the business users to validate their intent. Uday asked the right questions from the get-go, and within a week was able to build a roadmap of how to achieve the goals stated above. He communicated the progress of the project to his customers, and ensured their needs were taken care of, or was appropriately pushed back, if they would jeopardize key milestones. Every customer he worked with had praises for him, and he was the preferred analyst for all critical projects. Uday showed great team work, by ensuring his colleagues had the right tools and skills to drive the project towards completion. He also ensured all his work was transitionable, so that when the project was completed, the tool and the database could be transitioned to the production team seamlessly. In short, Uday is one of the best analysts I have worked with and would recommend him for a Sr. Business Data Analyst/Application Architect role.
From  Shashidar Kadiri:
Udaya is one of the solid DA's I have worked with. He is not only responsible but hard working. I can rely on Udaya by giving him a critical task and am sure he will finish by keeping me in the loop of the updates or hurdles. He is not only comfortable with Database but also areas like UNIX and am sure he was learning mainframes as well. If I get a chance I will hire Udaya back in my team.
From Bishwambhar Adhikari:
Udaya is one of the best business/data analyst I have ever worked with. He bought a very good mix of technical and business knowledge on the table and has excellent people skills. He never hesitates to roll up his sleeve and do what is needed to get the job done. It was a true pleasure working with him. Feel free to reach me if you have any question about his tenure at Freddie Mac.
